The new Aquila Metallurgical Coal Mine extends the life of Anglo’s existing Capcoal underground operations by seven years, after the company’s nearby Grasstree mine reached its end of life in recent weeks.
Anglo’s Capcoal Handling & Processing Plant processes metallurgical steel making coal from their neighbouring Bowen Basin mines before loading onto trains to go to the export wharf.

The field development consisted of a wellhead platform located in 30 m water depth producing to the FPSO, which was located in 255 m water depth.
The Griffin Development consists of the Griffin, Scindian and Chinook reservoirs. First oil was produced in 1994 and production ceased in 2009, with well abandonment undertaken in 2018.
